ASW's penultimate race of the year was perfect, the weather was kind to us, with some sun and some clouds, with a little bit of rain (to keep the dust down).

We had a great turn out as usual with lots of brand new riders enjoying their first event, they travelled from all over the south west of England, a few travelled the day before and camped over with the permission of the land owner.

Bright and early the parking field soon filled up, riders signed on ready for the days racing. Some of the guys and girls that had been on this track before thought they knew what was in store for them, but the Mitchells worked tirelessly the week before making some additions to the track, they cut the woods into two halves leading to a brand new off camber field then back into the woods again to carry on.

The youths set off first, with no major problems after the sighting lap they were keen to get going. Over 45 on the start line was an impressive sight, Harry Mitchell put in a fantastic first lap of 8 mins 40 seconds with second place following a clear minute after him!

As always the motocross section of the track drew the spectators in, with the table tops jumps and ski jumps. Even the small wheels boys and girls completed the track with no trouble (albeit a little slower).

Then it was the adults turn to have a thrash around the track, they had some great times to beat although a couple didn't care about silly things like lap times, they were just there for the thrill of the ride, good on them I say.

Wayne Butt put in an astounding first lap 7 mins 58 secs, followed just under 30 seconds later by Adrian Heard who fought Wayne every step of the way, which made for a very entertaining race.

It was rough going out there, we had three riders dislodge their tail pipes during the race, at one point it was like a competition, who could get the most zip ties on their exhaust!

With a couple of light showers to keep the dust down it was a fantastic days riding, with all the riders enjoying the day and the extra bits of track.

Casimo got the results out within 3 minutes of the race ending and were on the table with a swarm of riders trying to see how well they had done.

Thanks to all that were involved not only on setting the track up, helping on the day, but everyone that turned up and made this a superb days racing.

As you will all know by now the championship finale was on the 30th September, but don't forget the presentation night on the 27th October. - Its always a great
night...
